If you’re looking for a soft, plush chenille yarn that feels great to work with and delivers beautiful results, I want to share my honest experience with JubileeYarn Chenille Yarn (100g / Worsted Weight).
I purchased this yarn on Amazon and used it to create several crochet projects for a client. This is not a technical or laboratory-style review, but a real-life opinion from someone who bought the yarn, crocheted with it, and used it in finished projects.
In this post, I’ll walk you through how this chenille yarn feels while crocheting, what types of projects I made, who I think it’s best suited for, and whether I believe it’s worth the price—especially if you’re considering it for special crochet projects or customer orders.

It’s not the most affordable chenille yarn compared to other options on the market or acrylic yarns. However, in my case, it was totally worth it because JubileeYarn offers color options that I couldn’t find in other chenille brands — and my client wanted those exact shades.
Projects Made With This Yarn
With this chenille yarn, I made two closed cowls and two beanie-style hats, one piece in each color.
For each project, I used approximately 100 grams of yarn, meaning one skein per piece.
Both projects were made for an adult woman and were crocheted toward the end of last year, just in time for the colder months.
Keep in mind that the total amount of yarn can vary depending on the final size of your project and your personal tension, but this reference can be very helpful when planning materials.
How This Chenille Yarn Feels to Crochet
The thickness of this yarn is medium; I’ve worked with both thicker and thinner chenilles, and this one strikes a nice balance.
I used a 5 mm crochet hook, and for me, it was very easy and pleasant to work with. The yarn doesn’t fray while crocheting, and the strand held up firmly throughout the projects.
This chenille has a super soft texture, the kind that feels like a gentle touch while you crochet—a real treat for projects that take several hours.
Stitch used:
I worked a textured stitch, doing half double crochet through one of the loops of the stitch. I don’t know the technical name for it; I learned it from a video tutorial on the Crochet MC channel.
💡 Important detail: Even using dark colors, which can make seeing your stitches a little harder, I had no problem crocheting these projects (the beanies and cowls). The textured stitch came out beautiful and well-defined.
Recommended Skill Level
I consider myself an advanced crocheter, and for me, this yarn was easy to work with. However, to be honest:
🔸 Not recommended for absolute beginners, especially if you’ve never worked with chenille before.
🔸 If you are just starting and still have trouble identifying stitches, this type of yarn can be a little challenging, especially with dark colors.
🔸 More suitable for intermediate or advanced levels. That said, if you are a beginner but are good at following tutorials and completing projects without much technical knowledge, you could try a simple project with it.
Fraying and Fuzz
This is a common question when it comes to chenille yarn:
✔️ The yarn sheds a little fuzz when cut, which is completely normal for this type of material.
✔️ While crocheting, I did not experience any fraying or breakage.
The hook size and tension can affect this, but with a 5mm hook and normal tension, my experience was excellent.
⚠️ Important: As with all chenille, be careful when undoing stitches, as the yarn can fray if handled too roughly. This is a general property of chenille, not specific to this brand.
Final Results
Although I couldn’t personally use the pieces since they were made for a client in Michigan (where it gets very cold), she told me:

❄️ Perfect for cold climates
Colors and appearance:
The colors I received were exactly like those shown on Amazon, at least for the two shades I picked. This is very important, especially when working on custom orders where precise colors are needed.
Is it Worth It?
In my opinion, yes, it’s worth it if you want to treat yourself, especially if you’re looking for specific colors you can’t find in other chenille brands.
It’s not the cheapest yarn on the market, but:

I haven’t personally washed the pieces since they were made for a client. However, since this is 100% polyester chenille, it’s always best to follow the manufacturer’s instructions.
They recommend machine washing, but here are some general tips to preserve the texture:
Hand wash or use a delicate cycle
Preferably place the item in a laundry bag
Avoid high temperatures and tumble drying
These steps help keep your chenille soft and looking new for longer.

🧶 Proyectos que realicé con este hilo
Con este hilo realicé dos cuellos cerrados y dos gorros tipo beanie, uno de cada color:
Para cada pieza utilicé aproximadamente 100 gramos de hilo
Es decir, una madeja por proyecto
Los proyectos fueron tejidos para una mujer adulta
Los hice a finales del año pasado, justo a tiempo para el frío
Dependiendo del tamaño final y del proyecto que quieras hacer, la cantidad de hilo puede variar un poco, pero esta referencia puede servirte mucho si estás calculando material.
🪡 ¿Cómo se teje este chenille? (sensación al tejer)
El grosor de este hilo es medio; he trabajado con chenille más gruesos y otros más delgados, y este se encuentra en un punto bastante equilibrado.
Utilicé un gancho de 5 mm, y para mí fue una experiencia muy agradable tejerlo. El hilo no se deshilacha mientras se teje y la hebra se mantuvo firme durante todo el proceso.
El chenille tiene una textura muy suave, de esas que se sienten como si acariciaran mientras estás tejiendo, algo que se agradece mucho en proyectos que llevan varias horas.
Punto utilizado:
El punto que utilicé fue un punto con textura, trabajando el medio punto alto tomando una de las hebras del punto. No conozco el nombre técnico del punto; lo aprendí en un video tutorial del canal Crochet MC.
💡 Detalle importante: A pesar de haber usado colores oscuros (que suelen dificultar la visibilidad de los puntos), para estos proyectos —gorros y cuellos— no tuve ningún problema al tejer. Incluso siendo un punto con textura, el resultado fue muy bonito y bien definido.
🧠 Nivel recomendado
Me considero una tejedora de nivel avanzado, y para mí fue un hilo fácil de trabajar. Sin embargo, siendo honesta:
🔸 No lo recomiendo para principiantes absolutos, especialmente si nunca han trabajado con chenille.
🔸 Si estás empezando y aún te cuesta identificar puntos, este tipo de hilo puede resultar un poco desafiante, sobre todo en colores oscuros.
🔸 Es más adecuado para nivel intermedio o avanzado. Aun así, si eres principiante pero se te da bien seguir tutoriales y logras sacar piezas sin mucho conocimiento técnico, podrías intentarlo con un proyecto sencillo.
✂️ ¿Se deshilacha o suelta pelusa?
Este es un punto que muchas personas preguntan cuando se trata de chenille:
✔️ Suelta un poco de pelusa al cortar el hilo, algo totalmente normal en este tipo de material.
✔️ Mientras tejía, no se me deshilachó ni se rompió.
El tamaño del gancho y la tensión pueden influir, pero con un gancho de 5 mm y una tensión normal, mi experiencia fue muy buena.
⚠️ Eso sí, como todo chenille, hay que tener cuidado al deshacer puntos, ya que el hilo puede deshilacharse si no se maneja con suavidad. Esto es algo general de los chenille y no exclusivo de esta marca.
🧣 ¿Qué tal el resultado final?
Aunque no pude usar personalmente las piezas porque fueron hechas por encargo (eran para una clienta que vive en Michigan, donde las temperaturas bajan bastante), ella me comentó que:
🧤 Los gorros y cuellos quedaron súper calentitos
❄️ Son perfectos para climas fríos
Colores y apariencia:
Los colores que recibí fueron exactamente iguales a los que muestra Amazon, al menos en los dos tonos que escogí. Esto es muy importante, sobre todo cuando trabajamos por encargo y necesitamos precisión en los colores.
💰 ¿Vale la pena?
En mi opinión, sí vale la pena si quieres darte un gusto, especialmente si buscas colores específicos que no encuentras en otras marcas de chenille.
No es el hilo más económico del mercado, pero:
✔️ Es suave
✔️ Es calentito
✔️ Tiene buena presentación
✔️ Los colores son fieles a las fotos
✔️ El hilo se teje bien
✔️ El resultado final es bonito y de calidad
Si estás buscando un hilo chenille bonito, suave y con buena presencia para proyectos especiales o por encargo, sí lo recomiendo.
🧼 Cuidado y mantenimiento
En mi caso, no he lavado personalmente las piezas, ya que fueron realizadas para una clienta. Aun así, al tratarse de un hilo 100% poliéster, recomiendo siempre seguir las indicaciones del fabricante.
Como sugerencia general, para conservar mejor la textura del chenille:
Lavar a mano o en ciclo delicado
Preferiblemente dentro de una bolsa de lavado
Evitar altas temperaturas y secadora

Por su suavidad y composición de poliéster, considero que este hilo es muy versátil. Lo recomiendo especialmente para:
